Before you create a construct, you should have some decent energy-working skills already down, and be able to shield well. First, decide what you want to create. Will it be stationary, or mobile? What will it do? If it has intelligence, how smart will it be? I recommend that to start out, you do not create a mobile, self-willed intelligent construct.
If you need an idea, suggest you create a simple ball that will follow you around. First, charge your hands, and project energy into an area between them, or, if the construct is larger, somewhere in the room that you have decided to put the construct in. While you do this, decide how long you want the construct to last, and concentrate on that while you gather the energy. It is useful to creating an internal structure for any constructed intended to last for a long while. This structure should circulate energy through the construct to allow for maintenance and repairs.
Once you have a concentration of energy in one area, shape it, using the appropriate energy format (see the psi abilities chart). Simply project energy at it, while concentrating on the shape you want it to be. If you have trouble with this part, stop here, and keep practicing this until you are successful.
Next, it’s time to program in behavior. Again using the appropriate energy format/nerve cluster, project energy into the construct while concentrating on all the things you want it to do. Also add a command that when you think a certain word at it, or project energy in a certain way, the construct will self-destruct (blow itself up). This is a safety feature, and it’s very important, particularly in the beginning. If you make a mistake in program, or something else corrupts the programming of your construct, you can use this to destroy it quickly. Constructs can turn on their makers, and this has happened in the past. If you construct does not do what you have programmed it to, destroy it, and continue practicing until it does, before moving on to further programming.
Once you can make a construct that lasts, has the shape you want, and performs the actions you want, then you may give it psi abilities. Project energy from the appropriate nerve cluster, while concentrating on the abilities you want it to have, and how to use them. You will have the best luck if you give it abilities you yourself can use. Some good things to start out with are shielding, projecting energy, and various psychic combat-related abilities and actions. Yes, you can make your construct able to make an army of other constructs. Please, don’t, particularly not without any caps on it.
There is no limit on the size, number, or intelligence of the constructs you make–they are limited only by your own energy levels and capabilities. Constructs can be extremely useful tools, or allies, so learning how to create them is a good skill. Working with partners, you can also practice reading the shape, longevity, and behavioral and ability programming in one another’s constructs. Reading constructs is a skill often neglected, but it’s a very useful one.
